The Lantern Grand Opening

The Lantern in Pinellas Park (located at 6925 112th Circle N, Largo, FL 33773)  is hosting a Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on July 28th at 11 AM (ribbon cutting will be at 11:30 AM).

 

Lighthouse of Pinellas is proud to open a low vision store that offers cutting-edge technology and a wide-range of daily living aids such as LED hand-held magnifiers, big push button phones, talking alarm clocks, large-button keyboards, large-print calendars, and other products that will help individuals in our community who are experiencing low vision live more full and independent lives. In addition to providing a local retail store where low vision products can be purchased, and proceeds benefit the Lighthouse of Pinellas, The Lantern will also provide opportunities for teen and adult clients who participate in their Blind Sighted Creations entrepreneurship program to design and sell their handmade braille stamped bracelets and 3D printed items which will be sold at The Lantern.
 
The Lantern will also be an integral part of their job training and placement program that will allow Lighthouse of Pinellas clients to gain valuable work experience skills within the realm of sales, cash control, inventory control, distribution, pricing, and general supply chain concepts. By providing such an outlet, not only will their clients be challenged by real world business experiences while gaining access to a greater feeling of accomplishment as they progress through the job search process.
