This month's guest speaker is
Jean Kelly
Assistant Vice President /
Employee Benefits Account Executive
BB&T
TOPIC:
Health Care Reform
after the
Supreme Court Decision:
Next Steps for Employers
Ms. Kelly's presentation will include a wide range of topics including: State Based Exchanges, Exchange Notices, Individual Mandate, Employer Mandate, Tax Increase on Wage Earners, Summary of Benefits and Coverage Disclosure Requirement, New W-2 Reporting, Seasonal Employees, Unaffordable Coverage Penalties, Other Penalties.
This is just a sampling of buzz words that will soon become issues facing business owners. If you own a business, you need to attend this overview of what is coming at you in 2013. It may represent the most sweeping change affecting employers and employees since the implementation of Social Security.
ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:
Jean Kelly, RHU, REBC, has worked in the insurance industry assisting clients with plan implementation, cost containment, day-to-day planning, and consulting with employer groups on complex issues like COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and (most recently) PPACA.
Her career began with Iler Wall & Shonter Insurance (IWS) in 1999, where she was an Employee Benefits Account Manager until 2004. That's when BB&T Insurance Services acquired IWS. In 2004 Jean moved to an Account Executive position where she is currently serving clients whose employee base ranges from 20 to 250.
Jean obtained her specialty credentials (Registered Health Underwriter and Registered Employee Benefit Consultant) in 2006. She serves on the board and is the Immediate Past President of the Tampa Bay Association of Health Underwriters (TBAHU), a group she has served as both President and Legislative Chair. During her years on the TBAHU board Jean has made annual visits to lawmakers in Washington, D.C. and Tallahassee to discuss the impact their decisions have on local businesses and consumers. Her passion is consumer advocacy and responsible healthcare reform that supports business growth and opportunity.Join us for this informative program!
