    Michael Whitaker

    Michael is a Regional Sales Manager for WellCare Health Plans, and has been with WellCare for over 9 years. He has also been a member of the Pinellas Park Chamber for 5 years as well as a board member of the Pinellas Park Medical District and board member for the Pinellas Country Fair. Michael and his wife Sharon have been married for 45 years, have 2 grown children, and live in Tampa where they both were born. He has worked in and supported Pinellas County for over 30 years.

    He was co-Founder and Vice President of Operations for Industrial Tapes and Adhesives for over 13 years. ITA was one of the largest 3M industrial distributors in Florida. While at ITA, he received numerous performance awards, community awards, manufacturing awards, quality awards, and mentored many employees in several of his companies’ locations.

    Michael was the Founder and Owner of Florida MedSearch for 4 years. Florida MedSearch transitioned into a national brand as Americas MedSearch, where Michael served as COO. Both companies served the Pharmaceutical Patient Assistance Programs for Free Medications.

    He was adjunct faculty professor with Hillsborough Community College for over 4 years. He holds degrees from The University of South Florida, University of Tampa, Hillsborough Community College, and the 3M Masters Academy for Advanced Learning. Michael is a licensed insurance agent and has completed all classes for LUTC training. He holds a certification from Xerox for the Xerox Time and Training Management Courses, Microsoft advanced certification training classes, and many other continuing education training courses too numerous to mention.

    Michael is a member of the Idlewild Baptist Church family, where he has proudly served as an Usher for over 15 years. He was a past President for the beaches chapter of Optimist International where he received numerous community participation awards for service to the community. He has volunteered with Metropolitan Ministries, H.E.L.P. Ministries, A.S.A.P. Ministries, Salvation Army, American Cancer Society, The Sheppard Center, and Mayor’s Feed the Hungry. Other achievements include, WellCare Health Plans’ President’s Club for top production, and WellCare’s Sales Manager Award of recognition for Outstanding Leadership and Mentoring. Michael is a member of Florida Council on Aging  and has also received the Essentials of Leadership Awards from St. Petersburg College, Relay for Life Award from The American Cancer Society, and Be the Match Foundation Award for Bone Marrow Transplants, and Mayors Feed the Hungry Foundation.

    Tim Caddell

    Vice President Tim CaddellTim Caddell has been a member and volunteer with the Pinellas Park Gateway Chamber for nearly 25 years. Tim has followed a diverse career path with a background in journalism, retail sales, law enforcement and non-profit management. He is currently Government Relations Administrator with the City of Pinellas Park. His duties include directing the City’s Media & Public Events Division, which coordinates release of information to the press including print and electronic media as well as production of citywide events like Country in the Park, various concerts and community celebrations. Tim’s division is also responsible for the City’s newsletter, government access television station and electronic bulletin boards. Tim also acts as in-house lobbyist for the City representing Pinellas Park’s interests at county, state and federal levels.

    Tim has served on various boards and commissions including the Florida Education and Employment Council for Women and Girls, The Board of Directors of 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Suncoast, United Way, and the Gasparilla Distance Classic Association. Tim and his wife Tracy have lived in Pinellas Park for 41 years. Their son, Chris, is a surfing CPA who lives in Honolulu, Hawaii.






    Dr. Daniel Strauss

       National University Of Health Sciences




    Dr. Daniel Strauss is the Dean of the College of Professional Studies at National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) that offers a doctor of chiropractic degree in Pinellas Park.  Dr. Strauss has strong passion for education and bringing health and wellness opportunities to the community.   


    Dr. Strauss earned his doctor of chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College.  He has practiced in New York and Florida before pursuing his career in education.  His practice consisted of broad-scoped primary care for the whole family, although he had a large number of pediatric and pregnant patients. 


    Prior to his position at NUHS, Dr. Strauss has worked in various colleges including New York Chiropractic, Keiser and St. Petersburg Colleges.  He has taught students in a variety of healthcare disciplines including nursing, EMT, paramedic, surgical technician, and pharmacy technician programs.


    In addition, Dr. Strauss is a registered respiratory therapist and EMT.  Prior to becoming a chiropractic physician, Dr. Strauss had worked in several hospitals in the upstate New York area as an EMT, respiratory therapist and supervisor of a respiratory care department at Rochester General Hospital.


    Dr. Strauss is currently the President-elect and executive board member of the Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce, Chairman and executive board member of the Pinellas Park Medical District, and executive board member for Vincent House.  


    “Joining the Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce was an easy decision for me”, says Dr. Strauss, “This organization truly cares about their members, the local businesses, and the community.  The relationship between the City of Pinellas Park and the Chamber is unlike any other which, in my opinion, is why we are able to provide so many great opportunities to the local businesses and the Pinellas Park community.”

    Hope Peterson has served on our Board since 2009, and in January 2011 was named our Businesswoman of the Year. One of only 17 women to earn recognition as a certified auto mechanic, Hope has been caring for automobiles in Pinellas County since the early 1990s and is recognized in the community for her efforts educating women and teens with free car care classes.

     She was the 2011 President of the Rotary Club of Pinellas Park, has served as Vice President of the Mid-Pinellas NPI (Network Professionals International) chapter, and is a member of three Automotive Advisory Committees at PTEC (Pinellas Technical Education Centers).

  • Jon Farris
    Crosspointe Church

    Jonathan Farris is the Executive Director of two Tampa Bay Area non-profit organizations and the Senior Pastor of Crosspointe Church. His degreed studies include a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Carolina Baptist College and a Master of Arts in Apologetics from Luther Rice University.

    He is the founder/CEO of New Found Family Inc., a Tampa Bay-based organization which provides principle-oriented resources to individuals and families to help them achieve success in all their endeavors.

    He is a the Senior Pastor of Crosspointe Church, a non-denominational church based in Tampa Bay, FL. with a mission of helping lives move towards spiritual transformation through a relationship found in Jesus. 

    From 1995 to 2004, Jon held an officer’s position at Republic Bank and helped them achieve the coveted title of Florida’s largest commercial bank. In the summer of 2004 he accepted an Assistant Pastoral role at Crosspointe Church and in 2010 was voted in as the Senior Pastor.

    Jon, his wife Daniele, and their children reside in Pinellas Park. He volunteered as 2012/2013 President of the Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce, is a graduate and strategic partner of Tampa Bay Lifework Leadership, a key-note speaker and authority in principle-oriented apologetics, and remains passionately focused on networking the Tampa Bay area to bring about a more positive, ethics-based social structure to our marketplace and community.

    Terry England

    Terry M. England is a long-time member of our Board, a Past President (1994), and a past honoree as Citizen of the Year (1997). He is the chairman of our Chamber’s Economic Development Committee, a position he has held since 1998, and in 2012 helped guide the Chamber in establishing the Pinellas Park Medical District as a standing committee of our Chamber. Terry serves on the Pinellas County Economic Development Council. He chaird the Chamber’s successful “Shoot for Success!” Trap Shoot held every year on the first Saturday in November.

    Terry is a Florida native, born in Avon Park, but he grew up all over Pinellas County and went to school with many others who are now in leadership positions in our City.

    At the age of 16, while he was still in high school, Terry worked part time at England Bros. Construction, learning drafting and working on the construction crew. He is currently President of the Company.

     Terry met his wife Marsha during his senior year of high school, and they have been married since 1972. They have two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica. Marsha and Jennifer work with him at England Brothers; Jessica works with the Florida Children’s Baptist Homes in Lakeland.

    Terry has a long history with our local Chamber, not only as a past president and Board member:

    In 1995 he was a business representative for the “Year of the Gulf” symposium, and was the most tenured member of SWFMWD (Southwest Florida Water Management District), serving on the Pinellas Anclote Basin Board from 1998 until it was dissolved in 2011. He was a member of Commissioner Seel’s US 19 Task Force in 2000, Chairman of the Law Enforcement Structures and Funding Task Force in 2003, a member of the Pinellas by Design Committee in 2004, and a member of the Pinellas County Customer Choice Design Team in 2006. Terry also accompanied Gov. Bush in 1998 on his Mexico Trade Mission to help promote commerce and has worked with Enterprise Florida, the Tampa Chamber, and the Pinellas County Economic Development Council on “matchmaking” with Reverse Trade missions.

     In 1999 his company, in coordination with the Chamber and City of Pinellas Park, built the band shell at Town Square Plaza Park (behind City Hall). The site, now a popular concert and festival field, has since been renamed England Brothers Park to recognize the contributions Terry, his family, and his company have made to the community.
