Committees

Ambassador Committee — Charged with community outreach such as ribbon cuttings, mixers, educational, business and networking luncheons, and special business programs, Ambassadors also welcome new members and serve as liaisons between members and the Chamber. Ambassadors also participate in The Business Visiting Program (BVP). This team of city and chamber representatives, visit area business and learn about their operations, achievements and of their concerns.

Budget & Finance Committee — This committee coordinates two major fundraisers each year, one of which is Country in the Park. Members monitor the Chamber’s budget and underpin the financial soundness of the Chamber.

Charitable Committee —-

Economic Development Committee — This diverse committee, with members representing a cross-section of businesses, universities, and city and chamber representative, meets monthly to develop strategies and explore avenues designed to encourage economic growth. Community Outreach with an economic agenda is also one of this committee’s responsibilities. They work with existing businesses interested in expansion and growth in the area, welcome and assist businesses interested in relocation, encourage export of local products, assist in efforts to develop global markets, and support vocational and training programs designed to meet the needs of local employers.

Education Committee —-

Equestrian Committee —- The newest group of our chamber profile, this committee embraces the rich equestrian past of Pinellas Park and introduces this little-known historical element to the West-Central counties of Florida. Revitalizing arenas, trail paths and access to our equestrian society attracts tourism, business development and economic diversity to the area.

Events & Celebrations Committee — Responsible for trade shows, job fairs, and fund raising, these committee members have held events which include the annual Health & Wellness Program, Park Station Trade Show & Job Fair, and Country in the Park Trade Show. Planned future events include A Taste of the Park and Light up the Park.

Faith Based Outreach Committee —-

Government Affairs Committee — This committee plans the annual trip to Tallahassee to inform legislators of local business and chamber concerns. They host breakfast and luncheon programs, with legislators as key speakers, to learn of changing platforms and issues in State Government, and they visit returning representatives to discuss local agenda. Members of this committee select winners of the Lloyd Tingler Good Government Award, Citizen of the Year Award, and Youth Citizen of the Year Award.

International Folk Fair Committee —-

Media/Marketing Committee — This backbone of the chamber promotes the chamber profile and membership, and advertises the services of businesses in the community via the Chamber web site, Newsletter, Calendar of Events, the Chamber Map and the Chamber Directory. It is also an outreach source for area media.

Membership Committee — The Membership Committee attracts and retains membership and promotes active involvement for all members. They establish membership and Trustee levels, issue membership certificates, conduct membership drives, help produce the membership directory, and coordinate the Business of Distinction Awards.

Tourism Committee —- The Tourism group develops awareness for the leisure and entertainment industry and promotes the important role tourism takes in local economic development and stability, businesses and communities. Members plan special events acknowledging a tourism and event planning agenda, support National Tourism Week with events and programs and support cultural arts via mutually beneficial partnerships between businesses, the arts and civic and cultural organizations.
